It is a privilege for us to serve our wonderful clients and their pets!
Our team is committed to helping our clients keep their pets healthy year round. We stay on top of the latest advances in veterinary technology and above all, we remember that all pets need to be treated with loving care in every check-up, procedure, or surgery.
MARVIN ALTOM, DVM
I graduated from UNAM with my veterinary degree in 1979. I spent the next 6 years working as a mixed animal practitioner, gaining experience in equine, cattle, small animal and emergency medicine.
Charlyce and I have never regretted moving to Northern Nevada in 1981. Our children grew up here and still return to visit–with our grandchildren, as often as possible. We have come to know and love so many wonderful people. Reno has been good to us.
I’ve been providing Veterinary Care in the North Valleys of Reno since 1985. During those years, I had the privilege of working alongside excellent doctors and a talented, dedicated support staff. The past 33 years have been rewarding and busy!
Early in 2017, we decided to slow down a bit and move into a smaller facility. Valley Veterinary Clinic began seeing clients in April. People ask why I haven’t retired and my answer is… I still enjoy helping my clients! It’s a lot of fun seeing the pets of the children who used to come in with their parents. We have a great staff and we enjoy working together to serve our patients and clients.
CHARLYCE ALTOM, PRACTICE MANAGER
Marv and I have been married since 1974. We share a busy and wonderful life! I began working as a manager in Veterinary Medicine in 1995. I love taking care of the business side, while Marv cares for his patients and clients.
ANNA LOPEZ, DVM
I was born in Walnut Creek, California, but my family moved to Reno, Nevada in 1993. I consider myself a proud Nevada Native! I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a Bachelors in Animal Biotechnology. During my undergraduate studies I worked as a veterinary assistant for Dr. Altom and I have loved medicine ever since that time. I received my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 2018.
I am so excited to be granted the opportunity to join such a rewarding profession and to have Dr. Altom as my mentor. My professional interests are small animal internal medicine and physical therapy/alternative medicine. I am very fortunate to be working with a wonderful veterinary team.
Outside of the clinic you can find me with my German Shepard, Nani, my two cats Riley and Esmeralda or in a CrossFit gym.

STORMY GUZMAN, LICENSED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN, CLINICAL DIRECTOR
I was born and raised in Elko county at the base of the Ruby Mountains. I grew up hunting and was very active in 4-H and FFA. My family moved to Reno in 2001 and I graduated from Procter R. Hug high school in 2003. In October of 2003, I married my high school sweetheart, Wes, and we have a son and daughter, who keep us very busy with sports and school activities!
I chose a career that would revolve around a passion for animals and began working towards becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician at TMCC in 2005. I love my work as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Working in fast-paced practices has provided me with the experience to gain valuable emergency and critical care skills. I am especially grateful for the amazing teachers and team members I’ve learned from.
In March of 2017, I applied for a position with Dr. Altom, to help him open Valley Veterinary Clinic. This has been rare and exciting opportunity! I love working in a smaller clinic, because we have more opportunity to interact on a personal level with our clients and that has been wonderful!
TANDLE BOSKIE, OFFICE MANAGER
I’ve lived in Nevada most of my life and grew up living and learning in the North Valleys. Growing up I had a passion for Veterinary medicine and always knew I wanted to help pets and their families. I’ve been in the veterinary field for 17+ yearas a veterinary assistant/manager and have loved every moment of it.
I am owned by 3 dogs, 3 cats, 4 daughters, 2 sons and my best friend/husband. My hobbies include belly dancing with Reno World Dance, scrap booking, knitting and reading when I can squeeze it in… Audible is the best thing since sliced bread ( in my opinion.) Working with Dr Altom at Valley Veterinary clinic is wonderful and I look forward to meeting all of your fur babies.
